Department duties and functions

• Provide comprehensive counseling services, including mental health support, career counseling, and academic advising
• Implement programs to support students’ emotional and psychological well-being
• Ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations and support
• Develop and enforce policies to promote accessibility and inclusion
• Oversee the admissions process, including application processing, interviews, and decisions
• Develop and maintain admissions policies and procedures to ensure a fair and efficient process
• Manage student registration processes, including course enrollment, schedule adjustments, and record maintenance
• Provide assistance and resolve issues related to student registration
• Organize and support extracurricular activities, student organizations, and campus events to enhance student life
• Facilitate leadership development opportunities and community-building initiatives
• Develop and enforce policies related to student behavior and conduct
• Address and resolve disciplinary issues, and ensure adherence to institutional standards
• Assist students in achieving academic success through tutoring services, study skills workshops, and academic advising
• Coordinate medical care and health services for students, including preventive care and emergency services
• Promote wellness initiatives, including health education and wellness programs
• Develop and implement programs to support physical, emotional, and social well-being
• Promote healthy lifestyles and provide resources for stress management and self-care
• Facilitate effective communication between students and the administration
• Collect and analyze student feedback to assess the effectiveness of services and programs
• Ensure students are informed about policies, services, and events through various communication channels
• Provide timely updates and information relevant to student interests and needs
• Develop and implement strategies for responding to student emergencies and crises
• Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to provide support during and after a crisis
• Provide immediate support and resources to students affected by emergencies or crises
• Develop and execute plans for crisis prevention and intervention
• Create and support programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community
• Develop initiatives to address and support diverse student needs and experiences
• Provide training and resources to enhance cultural competency among students
• Foster an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity
